Seth Brown currently serves as the Director of Educator Support and Leadership Development in DEEL. He began teaching with Pitt County Schools in August 1997 as a 6th grade Social Studies, Science, and Math Teacher at CM Eppes Middle School. He has been with the county ever since, serving as a Social Studies teacher at JH Rose High, Assistant Principal at Ayden-Grifton High, and Principal at Ayden Middle and Chicod School.
Seth relies on his bride, Joanna, to keep him centered and focused on what’s important in life. He has two amazing girls, Caitlin and Madison. He currently keeps himself busy with F3 – Fitness, Fellowship, and Faith, a free, all male, workout group with the purpose of invigorating male leadership in the community. This leads him to do some Completely Stupid and Utterly Pointless (CSUAP) events, like the USMC Mud Run, Spartan Races, and GoRuck Challenges. If you want to talk to Seth about something not related to school, ask him about F3 or FiA (the female counterpart).
Seth graduated from UNC-Chapel Hill with a BS in Secondary Social Studies Education as a North Carolina Teaching Fellow. He graduated from East Carolina University with a Masters in School Administration as a North Carolina Principal Fellow and is currently pursuing a PhD in Curriculum and Instruction from NC State University.
Seth also serves as a trainer for the NC Principal and Assistant Principal’s Association (NC PAPA) where he is a trainer and developer of the Distinguished Leadership in Practice (DLP) Program and the Future Ready Leaders (FRL) Program. He is a True Colors trainer for Pitt County Schools. He currently is certified as an Agency Trainer for Cognitive Coaching and Adaptive Schools as well as Situational Leadership.
